Stress is the feeling where one feels overwhelmed due to mental or emotional pressure. Stress can be caused by both positive and negative changes in life. While positive changes, such as moving to a bigger house, getting a promotion at the work, a holiday, a new baby, etc. can produce stress due to overexcitement or added work, negative changes, such as losing a job, unhappy with work quality, financial issues, work deadlines, lack of work-life balance, etc. can cause stress due to added mental agony and lack of coping mechanisms.

I can’t believe that I ran my first half marathon today. I feel so light now that I am done with it. It’s a feeling of pure joy and accomplishment!!! Weeks and weeks of training had paid off today but despite all the training, it wasn’t an easy feat.

The bad run

One week before the actual run day, I went out for my run and was in for a surprise. I couldn’t run! I just couldn’t. I tried walking to catch my breath but something was just off. I just couldn’t do it. For someone, who has been training…

It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. — Confucius

After the high of achieving 100 km in a month, I decided to try a new milestone — to run my first half marathon🏃‍♀️!!! And what better time to try it when you cannot step out for anything other than grocery shopping and exercising due to the pandemic that we will all remember as COVID-19.

Once again, I reached out to my marathoner friend to set a new plan for this humongous goal of mine, and we set out on this journey. This…

When a child sits for a long time watching movies, it directly prevents physical movement leading to issues like obesity and sedentary lifestyle. Rather than playing outside, a child spending time watching movies will certainly cause long-term physical health problems.

Watching movies exposes them to vulgar language and scenes, which impacts their mental health. Tender minds of children cannot differentiate between what is right and what is wrong. They are in learning phase. So, if they watch vulgar words in movies, they will just start using them thinking that they are acceptable. The adult content shown in family movies these…

Last weekend, my son had a playdate with his friend at Punggol. Since it is far from where we live, we decided to tag along to explore the new area while the kid spends time with his friend.

When we arrived in the area, we were in for a surprise because of the huge township that we were looking at and the multiple towers of apartments and office spaces all around us. We were still gushing over the wide roads and the vast open spaces when we arrived at our destination — Waterfront Point. …

Every year, my son gifts me a piece of handmade jewellery on Women’s day. This year, I wasn’t expecting anything of the like thinking that he might have grown up for such activities (12 years old now!). But he surprised me this morning by presenting a beautiful pair of earrings ❤️

With the advent of technology, we are all caught up in the whirlwind of activities that take up all our time Monday through Sunday. We never pause to notice that time is slipping by as we try to complete task after task. With a job, school, cooking, household chores, chauffeuring kids, appointments, and commitments, life starts living us rather than us living our lives. …

Australian author, Rachel Bermingham once said, “Most days I juggle everything quite well, on the other days there’s always red wine.” This quote truly resonates with me. I was stuck writing my previous blog. I wrote for several days and reached a point where I had lost direction on what I wanted to really capture. All I had was random thoughts penned together. I was about to give up when wine happened.

Earlier that day I had been checking out my glasses and had discovered that I had bought a new set of wine glasses and chardonnay, none of which…
